Falcon Concentrators purchases Sepro Mineral Processing International!

 

Falcon Concentrators is pleased to announce the purchase of Sepro Mineral Processing International (SMPI).  SMPI is a UK based company, in operation for over 20 years, providing pneumatic tyre driven mills and scrubbers into the mining industry.  These well proven high quality mills and scrubbers enjoy lower capital costs and shorter delivery lead times than others currently available on the market. In addition, SMPI provides complete equipment packages including screening, classification and materials handling. The combined company will now offer a host of products and services from individual pieces of equipment, through to milling and classification modules, and finally complete gravity only plants.

 

The newly formed entity will operate under the name “Sepro Systems” and will encompass all of the equipment and services that the two previous companies provided.

Gold recovery from copper concentrates

Falcon Concentrators is known for its ability to recover FINE minerals and metal from process streams. A good example of this is in the recovery of FINE gold from copper concentrate, whether it is flash or standard flotation concentrate.

The economics are quite simple in determining whether or not to ship gold with the copper concentrate and get a low number of credits for it, or to gravity recover it using the high G-forces of the Falcon technology and maximize your financial return. A combination of the high G-forces and low water pressure demand of the Falcon SB ensures that the FINE gold is retained within the concentrate riffles.

Falcon Concentrators commissioned the first flash flotation concentrate recovery unit at Cadia Hill Mine in Australia in 1998 and will be commissioning another SB2500 (115t/h) unit for the Newcrest Company in 2002 at the Ridgeway Mine, which is currently being constructed.

Falcon also has units installed in the Philippines for the recovery of gold from copper concentrate at Lepanto and Philex Mines.

This once again shows the versatility of the Falcon SB technology to treat materials that are FINE and not always within grinding circuits.
