| Falcon UF FAQ |
|
What does UF stand for? Ultra Fine – All previous enhanced gravity concentration technologies have failed to achieve meaningful recovery of particles finer than 10 Microns. Falcon’s UF technology is a true recovery breakthrough in this size fraction. It’s very new technology. What about its mechanical robustness? Falcon’s UF machines run on mechanical platforms that have been proven over almost two decades in plant environments. Bearings are covered by Falcon’s industry-leading 20,000 Hour warranty. What about process water? None is required except for periodic rinsing of concentrate. There is never a need for high quality process water to be injected through small holes that tend to plug up. Low quality water can be used for rinsing. What operating costs can be expected? The first commercial installation of UF technology has been running continuously for six months. No wear parts have been required so far. Overall operating costs will be lower than for Falcon’s SB machines, parts costs are expected to be less than 0.01 USD per ton treated. How do lab results compare with those in the plant? Lab results appear to be slightly better and Pilot Plant results are indistinguishable from production. Both types of test are available through Falcon. Can concentrate be cleaned to saleable grades? Yes |
