Cleaning Tantalum Flotation Concentrates Recovering very fine tantalum by flotation has been shown to be very effective in both laboratory & plant settings. To date no flotation means has been found to clean bulk flotation concentrates to saleable grade. Historically, tantalum recovered in a roughing step has been too fine to be efficiently recovered with known enhanced gravity techniques. Falcon’s UF technology has now been proven as an effective technique for producing saleable tantalum concentrate from low grade rougher flotation concentrate at the Tantalum Mining Company of Canada’s Bernic Lake Concentrator. Grade and recovery are roughly double the preceding flow sheets for cleaning. Recovering Ultra Fine Tin Falcon has used its UF technology to recover ultra fine tin from slime. With multiple concentrating stages, saleable grades of concentrate have been produced. Since tin as cassiterite is extremely friable and tends to slime easily, having a technology that efficiently recovers tin from slime will be a significant benefit to tin producers. Falcon has a number of advanced stage UF tin projects. Fine Tungsten Extensive UF testing on tungsten minerals has shown that Falcon’s UF technology will be cost effective for recovery of –20 micron tungsten. |
